Notice Of Intent To Enter A Sole Source Contract, Harrisburg University Of Science And Technology Friendship PCS is engaging in a partnership with Harrisburg University of Science and Technology through their College in the High School (CiHS) program. This partnership provides Friendship students with the opportunity to complete rigorous, college-level STEM coursework while simultaneously earning both high school and regionally accredited college credit. The Harrisburg University CiHS program is specifically designed to integrate college coursework into the high school instructional day through qualified high school instructors who have been vetted and approved by Harrisburg University. The program supports school districts in expanding access to high-quality dual enrollment opportunities while maintaining academic rigor and alignment with local graduation requirements. Through this partnership, Friendship students have access to specialized coursework in high-demand fields, including computer science, cybersecurity, engineering, environmental science, mathematics, and other STEM disciplines that align with the district’s Career and Technical Education (CTE) pathways and Early College initiatives. Key components of the Harrisburg University College in the High School program include: Harrisburg University curriculum delivered by high school instructors who have successfully completed the University’s faculty approval and credentialing Simultaneous award of high school credit and official Harrisburg University colleg credit upon successful course completion. Reduced tuition of $100 per college credit, increasing affordability while maintaining the academic standards of the of the University Ongoing faculty support, curriculum oversight, quality assurance, and official transcript issuance by Harrisburg University. Established curriculum alignment with Friendship Public Charter School’s approved courses, graduation requirements, and CTE Programs of Study. The estimated yearly cost is approximately $90,000. The contract term shall be automatically renewed for the same period unless either party, 60 days before expiration, gives notice to the other of its desire to end the agreement.
