Home of the Eagles!

Friendship Woodridge is the first International Baccalaureate middle charter school in Washington D.C., serving students in 6th - 8th grade.

Started in 1998 as a stand-alone elementary school for students in grades K-5, the Woodridge site was expanded in 2004 to add pre-school and middle school classes. Today, the Woodridge site is home to two campuses - Woodridge Elementary (PK-3) and Woodridge Middle (4-8).

Praised for its robust academics and nurturing staff, Friendship Woodridge International Elementary focuses on creating an International Baccalaureate experience. We provide scholars with educational experiences for their futures to prepare as global citizens. Woodridge offers students opportunities to explore world cultures while building foundational skills to attend and complete college and beyond while building foundational skills for lifelong learning.

The Woodridge core academic program is supplemented by a foreign language program offering exposure to a second language in preschool to full course offerings as students progress to higher grades.

Woodridge has received numerous awards and recognition for its work in advancing student achievement including a Blue Ribbon Schools nomination and special visits by President George W. Bush, U.S. Secretary of Education Margaret Spellings, and First Lady Mrs. Laura Bush.
