Friendship Collegiate Academy held its first-ever signing day event as five members of the football team signed letters of intent Wednesday. After starting a football program from scratch with minimal resources, Collegiate demonstrates that the values of hard work, sacrifice and persistence it preaches to all students pays off.

In the ceremony covered by News Channel 4, five players signed their letters of intent and received full college scholarships.

• Gabe Smith - Hampton
• Richard Washington - North Carolina A & T
• Anthony Elliot - Morgan State
• Nick Walker - Elizabeth City State University

Players William Gary, Chris Mason, Russell Jackson and Kevin Gadson also received scholarship offers. Congratulations to all of our players, coaches, families and staff!
