Located in the historic Anacostia area in Washington, D.C., our school stands amidst a neighborhood that's rich with history. The name Anacostia is derived from it's first inhabitants, a Native American settlement along the Anacostia River. The home of 19th century luminaries such as Frederick Douglass, the crucial role of neighborhood residents in the development of our city and our country led to the Anacostia National Historic District being listed on the National Register of Historic Places. We believe that Anacostia's best days are yet to come, and a revitalized Anacostia High School is essential to our future.
